The following initiatives are critical to strengthening Colgate’s model of liberal arts education and expanding our research agenda:

  • Off-campus and extended study programs, building on Colgate’s distinctive off-campus study program by increasing opportunities for students to explore other cultures and broaden their perspectives.

  • Faculty-student research fellowships, expanding opportunities for promising students to work side by side with professors to experience and contribute to the discovery of knowledge and learn the skills of problem solving.

  • Diversity Initiative, challenging students to think and work inclusively, ensuring that they have the skills to bridge cultural boundaries as they prepare to lead teams and collaborate in the global environment.

  • Center for Learning, Teaching, and Research, promoting Colgate’s commitment to the highest academic standards and strong support by bringing together academic support services to help faculty and students master teaching and learning in a rapidly changing technological world.

  • Curriculum Initiative Fund, providing faculty members the resources to enhance the depth and breadth of Colgate’s academic offerings through the development of new courses, exploration of relationships and links among departmental curricula, and enriching and extending courses through team teaching.

  • Academic centers of engagement, enriching the campus community via public discussion, special events, and sponsored programs relating to specific emerging areas of study and exploration, from societal issues to aspects of art and culture.

  • Robert Blackmore ’41 Media Center, expanding the university’s tradition of broadcasting by placing WRCU into a new digital broadcast and production facility.
