The state-of-the-art Robert H.N. Ho Science Center —
named in honor of Colgate alumnus Robert Ho '56 for his philanthropic leadership — has already transformed the Colgate campus.

Its inauguration intersects with the convergence of a national effort to attract more students to science and a growing demand for broadly educated professionals in all disciplines.

The 121,000-square-foot center signals a new era for science at Colgate and makes a powerful statement about the critical role science plays within a liberal arts institution.

It brings together scientists and social scientists in a common intellectual and physical environment, promoting the exchange of ideas within a vigorous research community. It is a place where Colgate faculty and students work together at the frontiers of discovery and knowledge.

The facility includes 40 research labs, 45 faculty offices, 20 teaching labs, seven classrooms, a 90-seat lecture hall and auditorium, a 60-seat visualization lab, a museum, and a teaching/research greenhouse — all aimed at enhancing Colgate's place as a leader in science education.
