Upstate Institute

The Upstate Institute

Members of the Student Philanthropy Council learn about the grant-making process through a special Upstate Institute Course, funded through the generous support of the Brennan Family Foundation.

While smart, ambitious, and academically gifted, Colgate students don’t get by on the merits of their classroom work alone. They are challenged to become engaged not only on campus but also in the wider community and the world, as thinkers and doers who make a difference. The Upstate Institute, launched in 2003, serves as
a tangible expression of that ideal.
