Krista Ingram
Assistant professor of biology

Ingram’s
fascination with ants began, oddly enough, while she was studying
dolphins in Hawaii. At the beginning of her PhD work at the University
of Hawaii at Manoa, she realized that, in order to delve into the
microscopic origins of animal behavior as she had originally intended,
she would have to find a model species — one that was easier to fit on a
microscope slide.
