Help Colgate Students Learn to Compete Professionally
Partner with Career Services
Colgate students benefit from the tremendous support of our alumni and parents. Whether you assist students with preliminary career exploration, provide strategy on searches, or hire a student, we appreciate your volunteerism!

Alumni Career Advisory Network: Can students and other alumni contact you about your career path, current position, or for general career advice? Update your profile on iCAN. Please include your “description of professional experience” and LinkedIn profile. Alumni volunteers only, please.
On-campus mock interviews: Are you visiting campus during a weekday and willing to provide practice interviews? Tell us at least seven business days in advance and we’ll do our best to pair you up with a student interviewee.
Internships and jobs: Help open the door to the first step or continuation in someone’s career! Click here to post a job or internship, learn about on-campus recruiting, or our off-campus interviewing events.
“A Day in the Life” job shadowing: Host a student at work for a day over January break. This is an exploration program designed to provide our younger students a realistic picture of professional life.
Industry updates: Have you run across a great conference appropriate for students, or an article that captures an industry update? Please send it along.
On-campus or virtual career exploration and strategy presentations: We selectively host speakers who can provide insight on their career field or teach job search skills to our students and alumni. Past programs included: Case Interview Preparation; Overview of Non-Profit Jobs; Creating a Positive Digital Identity. Please share your interest.
Financial support of Career Services: Our impact is amplified by the generous support of our donors. Designate your online giving to Career Services, or speak with our Institutional Advancement colleagues about your gift. If you are a new donor who’d like to discuss your giving, please contact Jen Stone at 315.228.6928. Current high needs include: Unpaid/underpaid internship funding; subsidies for graduate school exams; technology; career resources (i.e. The Vault).
Other ideas: Please email careervolunteer@colgate.edu if your idea is not reflected above.
While we seek to use volunteers’ time appropriately, we cannot guarantee student participation.
