Colgatealumni.org launches new features

Recently, Colgatealumni.org launched two features designed to strengthen your online community.

In addition to the traditional “contact us” page, where you can find a full list of alumni and advancement staff, we’ve added a “Talk to Us” icon that appears around the site. Have a thought? Need to ask a question? Want to send a message to a real person right away? Just click the microphone and fill out the form. Alumni director Tim Mansfield will receive your message personally and reply to each inquiry. He may also connect you with another person on campus who can answer more specific questions.

The site has also enhanced its search capabilities, adding an engine “powered by Google.” While generic queries like “reunion” and “directory” are bound to return a long list of pages, the Google search — the same technology featured on Colgate.edu — also taps key matches. These links are created according to the search habits of site visitors; they appear at the top of your results page and are most likely to take you to the appropriate destination.

Watch for more innovations coming soon, and don't forget: when you log onto the site before completing event registrations or making gifts, our database will fill in large portions of your form automatically.
