From John LeFevre ‘41
Dear Classmates,

I am very pleased and honored to have been asked to co-chair such a new and important initiative for the Colgate Annual Fund. I suspect my story is not one bit different from most other people who give, who have made and kept some lifelong friends. We are each connected to Colgate and it’s something that we just don’t “shake”. Giving something back each year has become an ongoing part of my life and I have chosen to support Colgate in ways that are meaningful to me.

During my time in the Colgate Admissions office, it became clear that financial aid dollars are crucial to ensure that the best and brightest attend Colgate each year. I have been pleased to support financial aid initiatives with the creation of the “John M. and Marian LeFevre Scholarship”. As a former Hockey player, I also support Silver Puck and other athletic initiatives.

It’s important that we each find our own way to make a difference at Colgate. Every gift truly makes an impact and your participation matters. The creation of the 1819 Circle is Colgate’s way of saying “thank you” to the many alumni that give back each year.

I hope you’ll join me in continuing your support for Colgate students by making your annual gift today.

All the best,

John LeFevre ’41
